Terms of Service
Pre-launch draft. This document is still being written and has not been finalized or approved by legal review. It is not yet in effect, and it will change before Gunsumer opens registration.
A plain-language outline of the terms Gunsumer intends to use. It describes how the service is meant to work today; the final wording will come from legal review.
What Gunsumer is
Gunsumer is a consumer-information and owner community for firearms: structured specifications, Owner Reports, the Gunsumer Index, questions and discussion. You can read public information without an account.
Gunsumer is not a marketplace. It does not sell firearms, and it does not support private sales, transfers, buyer and seller matching, or any other firearm transaction.
Accounts
- You sign in with a link sent to your email address, or with Google. There are no passwords.
- You choose a pseudonymous username during sign-up. It is your public identity and cannot be changed.
- Keep access to your email account: it is how you sign in and how you recover your account.
- You can normally delete your account from your account settings. Account deletion may be restricted in certain account states, including while an account is suspended, in which case a support-assisted process may be required.
Your contributions
You remain responsible for what you post. Contributions must follow the Community Guidelines. Public contributions such as Owner Reports, questions and replies may remain after you delete your account, attributed to "Former member", so that discussions and community data stay intact.
Community data
Community data, including Owner Reports and the Gunsumer Index, is reported by owners. It is not laboratory testing, independent verification or professional advice. Manufacturer information and community opinion are kept distinct.
